Some of the advantages of an ROV inspection include:
- Inspections in deeper water that would exceed the limitations of human divers.
- Prolonged inspections with no time limitations.
- No risk to human life
- Less disturbance to bottom resulting in better quality photos and video
- Very high quality images and photos due to onboard 4K camera and LED lights
- Lower cost inspections with more data for you to come to your own conclusions
- You as the customer can participate in the inspection in real time.
Disadvantages of an ROV:
- It is impossible to feel things with an ROV, a prime example of this is inspecting links on a chain, sometimes it is nice to be able to move the links and clean them.
- Thats it!
