Spencer Steele B.A.Sc, P.Eng.
Mechatronics Systems Engineer
Spencer's Phone Number : 604-785-7060
Spencer's Email: [email protected]
Spencer studied Mechatronics Systems Engineering at Simon Fraser University, completing his Bachelor of Applied Science in 2014. He founded SFU's first Formula SAE team, SF-1, and advocated for a student shop space to house fabrication equipment and allow for all engineering students to practice and apply the engineering theories they have studied in class.
In 2014, Spencer began working at Resonance Technology International in Coquitlam, BC, designing and managing the production of high frequency hydraulic pile driving and drilling vibrators. It was here where he gained invaluable experience working on mechanical, hydraulic and electric systems. After 3 years of the fast-paced R&D environment that contributed to him receiving his Professional Engineering designation, Spencer decided to focus his attention on the family business, MRX Marine.
Previous companies Spencer worked for include International Submarine Engineering (ISE), Kardium Inc., Surround Technologies and the District of Maple Ridge (as a lifeguard/swim instructor).
Spencer enjoys recreational diving in his spare time. His passion for engineering flows into other aspects of his life as well, with home renovations, building and customizing cars being among his favourite hobbies. His Alaskan Malamute, Sitka, occassionally joins in on the job site.
