Tidal Marine Flotation
For the last 5 years we've worked closely with Tidal Marine in nearby Port Coquitlam to supply a substantial amount of our flotation. They design and rotomold all of their floats in house which is piece of mind knowing your money is going to hard working BC'ers instead of paying to ship styrofoam across the continent. We usually keep a small stock of Tidal Marine's DFL 574 (24"x48"x16") and DFL 710 (24"x48"x20") EPS Foam filled dock floats. For medium to large flotation orders we try to meet certain production run minimums. We put the excess floats into stock and you get the lowest price possible. Tidal Marine is a division of Northwest Plastics Ltd. - a pioneer in the field of dock floats and has been pushing the limits of whats possible for decades. Tidal Marine helps us to keep our products locally made.
Rotomoulded EPS Flotation is becoming the new standard of dock building as bare styrofoam floats have long been known to be a major source of ocean pollution. Not to mention they don't fall apart so they will immediately pay for themselves when you factor in the lack of future maintenance. We think it is very important to have fixed positive buoyancy - that means if your flotation is damaged its buoyancy is not compromised. While air filled tanks can make great flotation - they can be very difficult and expensive to fix when they inevitably become compromised. Air Lift Tanks on the other hand, are very useful for repairs or leveling - see the Lift Tank section for more information! Information on the 3 versions of Tidal Marine flotation are below:
